  1. This is a remake of the classic game 'Space War'  The object of the game,
  2. quite simply, is to blow your opponent away as quickly as possible, while
  3. avoiding his shots and the sun in the center of the screen.  Use the
  4. following keys to control your spacecraft:

  6. Player 1            Player 2  (Make sure NUM Lock is ON)

  8. Forward      --- I        Forward      --- 8
  9. Rotate Left  --- J        Rotate Left  --- 4
  10. Rotate Right --- L        Rotate Right --- 6
  11. Stop         --- K        Stop         --- 5
  12. Fire Weapons --- Space Bar    Fire Weapons --- 0

  14. These keys can be changed by picking players from the OPTIONS menu.
  15. A joystick may also be selected for either player.
  16.  
  17. Each player begins with 3 lives.

  19. In addition, several variations of the main game have been included.
  20. Each variation is described below:
  21.  
  22. NORMAL GAME --> The standard game of Space War.  Avoid the sun in the
  23. center of the screen while trying to destroy your opponent as quickly
  24. as possible.
  25.  
  26. DEADLY BORDERS --> The same as the normal game, except this time you
  27. cannot fly off the screen and wrap around to the other side.  If you
  28. try, you will be destroyed!  Avoid the border!
  29.  
  30. BOUNCING SHIPS -->  Similar to deadly borders, except this time if you
  31. try to fly off the screen, your ship will be knocked backwards and you
  32. will lose control for a brief period of time, making you a sitting duck
  33. for your opponent.  In this variation, your ship will thrust forward
  34. automatically at the beginning of the level, and after being frozen
  35. by hitting a border.  Once again, avoid the borders!
  36.  
  37. BOUNCING SUN --> In this variation, the borders act as they do in the
  38. normal game, but now the sun no longer sits in the center of the screen.
  39. It will bounce around the screen, sometimes changing direction in an
  40. unpredictable manner.  HINT:  If you shoot the sun in this level, it
  41. will change directions, heading directly toward your opponent!
  42.  
  43. SHOOTING SUN --> Be careful where you shoot in this level!  If one of
  44. your shots hits the sun, it will emit a fireball in a random direction
  45. that is deadly to either you or your opponent!
  46.
